I went to my first Pride and it was awesome

I went to Pride for the first time this year and because I absolutely loved it I thought I'd write about it. It's difficult to describe what exactly I loved so much about it - the fact that I was there with my girlfriend and some good friends certainly helped - but I think it comes down to the atmosphere. Being in a space where everyone is openly themselves and proud about it is so awesome and it genuinely makes me sad that humanity can't be like that all the time.
Drag queens, people with "free hug" signs, half naked people, tons of rainbows and short died hair were everywhere and the only time people commented on others appearances was when complimenting each other.
It was such a happy moment in my life and I can't wait to go back. There's something freeing about seeing how many people don't care about social norms and how many different personalities you get when everyone is being themselves. You don't really realise it usually but in everyday life most people just seem kind of the same and if we're being honest that's boring. I can honestly say that going to pride wasn't just an amazing day of partying, singing, dancing and meeting amazing people but it was also inspiring as well and I would encourage anyone, whether they're part of the LGBT community or not - to go and have fun :)

(This post was really useless but I wanted to write it anyway and since no one is actually reading this I shouldn't have to justify myself)
