Why I write

The older I get (which, let's be honest, isn't old at all) the more I have to remind myself why I bother with writing, drawing and just being creative in general.
Saying I like to write sounds childlike somehow, especially since I don't have immediate plans to publish anything. So, this is just me explaining why I like to write despite sometimes feeling silly about it.
I I've always loved stories and imagining scenarios and writing them down is the only way I can capture that
II It's challenging to think of a cohesive plot and well developed characters, but it's always fun. It never get's boring or repetitive since I'm always writing something else but it's also never something I shy away from doing out of fear of not being able to do it (well, most of the time anyways)
III Being able to create something in my brain and then being able to show others exactly how I imagined it has something magical to it. Language may not be the perfect way to relay thoughts, emotions and experiences but it's one, if not the best, way we have and mastering that form of communication is something I would love to acheive
IV This might be a bit presumptuous and far-fetched but I'd like to believe that some day I can make an impact with the things that I'm writing. If done successfully, writing allows you to spread your opinions and morals without having to explicitly state them. Bringing awareness to issues or provoking conversations is one of the main reasons why I want to share my writing
V If someone is able to make you love or hate a character who only exists in letters on a page then that's incredible. Being able to tell engrossing and captivating stories is an art form and I'd be really happy if I can call myself an artist one day
VI It's really fun. Even if all of the reasons listed above (apologies if they sounded pretentious or repetitive) aren't taken into account, this is the one that matters most. Even when it's hard to come up with words, writing is still fun. Sure, it can be frustrating at times but I'll never want to stop.
This list could probably be expanded indefinitely but those were the few reasons that came to my mind immediately while typing.
What are your reasons for writing? I'd love to hear your motivations and goals :)
